In Isaiah 40:31, the prophet says - "but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Then, in Luke 24, Jesus told his disciples: "And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”
Family House is entering a time of prayer and fasting beginning Monday, April 10 and running until Sunday, May 28th (from Easter to Pentecost Sunday). What is fasting? Simply put, it is denying ourselves something in order to take the attention we would put on that thing(s) and put those attentions on Jesus. We want to actively wait on the Lord. We invite you to take some time this week to pray into what God is asking you to fast. It could be social media or phone use. Your fast could be removing something(s) from your diet. Let the Lord direct you. We will break the fast together on Pentecost Sunday, May 28th after our 4:30pm worship gathering.
